Plenty of information technology firms have come and gone since mass integration of the personal computer over the past two decades, but there are triumphant survivors - such as Guidant Partners.

Burgess has tweaked the company's business model over the years, but the "one-stop-shop" nature of the business remains the same. In 2005, Guidant morphed into a managed service provider, which means most of Guidant's clients sign a three-year contract and pay a flat fee for ongoing IT services.
