1.   The Year of IT Outsourcing: Many SMBs have been making budget cuts since late 2008 to keep their businesses afloat. Even with the rebounding of the economy, business leaders are still seeking ways to do more with less. IT Outsourcing has quickly become the most cost effective and efficient way for SMBs to manage the technology in their office. SMBs are receiving the benefits of having enterprise level staff and services for a portion of the cost to have a single dedicated in-house employee.

2.   Cost-saving Technologies: Virtualization, an obvious money saver, was named by Gartner as the #1 Technology of 2010. A close second, showing great promise in 2011 is "cloud" or "utility" computing. There was a considerable buzz in 2010 about the "cloud," but virtualization is projected to hold firm as the biggest money saver of 2011.

3.   Mobile Security: The use of mobile devices exploded in 2010. A vast majority of U.S. employees tote a personal quick-access storage device to work, and store sensitive documents and emails on them. With the emergence of the iPad and over 30 other new tablets in 2010, business leaders are opening themselves to new mobile malware. Mobile security will be a hot topic in 2011. Many companies are already turning to IT firms for the management, support, and security of mobile devices.
